Multiple car crashes were reported Christmas Eve morning as the snow began to cover roadways and one crash downed a power line in uptown Butte.
Montana Highway Patrol began responding to crashes in Silver Bow, Deer Lodge and Jefferson Counties early this morning and continued through Monday evening.
Snowfall caused multiple crashes on Interstate 90 and 15.
In Butte the snow really began to fall around 9am causing several crashes in town.
One vehicle struck a power pole near the Montana Street and Buffalo Street intersection.
The driver was headed from Walkerville to her work in Butte.
"I just barely slid off the road and hit the telephone pole and my car is further down now because I was trying to get back up. As much as Walkerville likes to be their own city, if they'd just join Butte-Silver Bow our roads would probably get done sooner, and we'd all be safer," says Walkervill resident Cheryl Dutoit.
That was the 5th car crash the tow truck company responded to by Monday morning.
