On Monday, the Bozeman City Commission is being asked to okay a contract with a consulting company to perform a nearly two yearlong integrated water resources plan.

The $132,500 contract is meant to look at all the options the city has when it comes to securing water, and to choose the best option for down the road. "The plan is meant to advise the City Commission, and the city ultimately, on where is it best for us to spend our limited resources in order to secure water for future generations for the city of Bozeman," said Bozeman City Manager, Chris Kukulski.

Kukulski says $132,500 is a lot of money, but it is a good investment because the overall project will cost tens of millions of dollars and the city wants to make sure they are spending their money on the best option available.

Over the next 12 to 18 months, Kukulski says the community will be asked to get involved in the process.
